{"id":1379,"date":"2012-12-05T11:00:53","date_gmt":"2012-12-05T11:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/rs\/en\/noor-ex-hindu-uk-part-2-of-2\/"},"modified":"2012-12-05T11:00:53","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T11:00:53","slug":"noor-ex-hindu-uk-part-2-of-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/r-islam.com\/en\/noor-ex-hindu-uk-part-2-of-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Noor, Ex-Hindu, UK (part 2 of 2)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1378\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/12\/noor2.png\" border=\"0\" width=\"440\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/r-islam.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/12\/noor2.png 440w, https:\/\/r-islam.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/12\/noor2-300x196.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">In these days of so called \u201csociety of equal rights\u201d, you are expected to have a boyfriend <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">(or you\u2019re weird!)<\/span><\/strong> and to not be a virgin.\u00a0 So this is a form of oppression even though some women do not realize it.\u00a0 When I came to Islam, it was obvious that I had finally found permanent security.\u00a0 A religion, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">a belief that was so complete and clear in every aspect of life.<\/span><\/strong> Many people have a misconception that Islam is an oppressive religion, where women are covered from head to toe and are not allowed any freedom or rights.\u00a0 In fact, women in Islam are given more rights, and have been for the past 1400 years compared to the only-recently rights given to non-Muslim women in some western and some other societies.\u00a0 But there are, even now, societies where women are still oppressed, as I mentioned earlier in relation to Hindu women.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Muslim women have the right to inheritance.\u00a0 They have the right to run their own trade and business.\u00a0 They have the full right to ownership, property, disposal over their wealth to which the husband has no right.\u00a0 They have the right to education, a right to refuse marriage as long as this refusal is according to reasonable and justifiable grounds.\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Quran itself, which is the Word of God, contains many verses commanding men to be kind to their wives and stressing the rights of women.<\/span><\/strong> Islam gives the right set of rules, because they are NOT made by men, but made by God; hence it is a perfect religion.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Quite often Muslim women are asked why they are covered from head to toe and are told that this is oppression &#8211; it is not.\u00a0 In Islam, marriage is an important part of life, the making of the society.\u00a0 Therefore, a woman should not go around showing herself to everybody, only for her husband.\u00a0 Even the man is not allowed to show certain parts of his body to none but his wife.\u00a0 In addition, God has commanded Muslim women to cover themselves for their modesty:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u201cO Prophet!\u00a0 Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) over their bodies (when outdoors).\u00a0 That is most convenient that they could be known as such (i.e. decent and chaste) and not molested.\u201d (Quran 33:59)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">If we look around at any other society, we find that in the majority of cases, women are attacked and molested because of how they are dressed. Another point I\u2019d like to comment on is that the rules and regulation laid down in Islam by God do not apply just to women but to men also.\u00a0 There is no intermingling and free-running between men and women for the benefit of both.\u00a0 Whatever God commands is right, wholesome, pure and beneficial to mankind; there is no doubt about that.\u00a0 A verse in the Quran explains this concept clearly:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u201cSay to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and protect their private parts (i.e. from indecency, illegal sexual acts, etc.); that will make for greater purity for them.\u00a0 And God is well aware of what they do.\u00a0 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and protect their private parts (from indecency, illegal sexual intercourse, etc.); and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments\u2026\u201d (Quran 24:31)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">When I put on my hijab (veil), I was really happy to do it. In fact, I really want to do it. When I put on the hijab, I felt a great sense of satisfaction and happiness: satisfied that I had obeyed God\u2019s command, and happy with the good and blessings that come with it. I have felt secure and protected.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> In fact people respect me more for it.<\/span><\/strong> I could really see the difference in behavior towards me.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Finally, I\u2019d like to say that I had accepted Islam not blindly, or under any compulsion.\u00a0 In the Quran itself there is a verse which says<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">\u201c\u2026Let there be no compulsion in religion\u2026\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"> (Quran 2:256)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">I accepted Islam with conviction.\u00a0 I have seen, been there, done that, and seen both sides of the story.\u00a0 I know and have experienced what the other side is like, and I know that I have done the right thing.\u00a0 Islam does not oppress women, but rather Islam liberates them and gives them the respect they deserve.\u00a0 Islam is the religion God has chosen for the whole of mankind.\u00a0 Those who accept it are truly liberated from the chains and shackles of mankind, whose ruling and legislating necessitates nothing but the oppression of one group by another and the exploitation and oppression of one sex by the other.\u00a0 This is not the case of Islam which truly liberated women and gave them an individuality not given by any other authority.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><a href=\"they-converted-to-islam\/women-converedt-to-islam\/906-noor-ex-hindu-uk-part-1-of-2\">Previous part<\/a><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ref. www.islamreligion.com<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In these days of so called \u201csociety of equal rights\u201d, you are expected to have a boyfriend (or you\u2019re weird!) and to not be a virgin.\u00a0 So this is a&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":1378,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1379","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-women-convert-to-islam"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
