style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Two weeks later I went to the Dawa center.\u00a0 I was really frightened and I was afraid I would say something wrong.\u00a0 My friend Khaled and his wife brought me and it was very emotional.\u00a0 At the end, all of us had tears in our eyes.\u00a0 I cried all the way home in the car.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Up to Date<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Still, everything wasn\u2019t as it should be.\u00a0 In changing my lifestyle, I had become a complete TV addict.\u00a0 My whole life now revolved around prayer and TV in the evening.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t happy about it, but I was too lazy to do anything about it.\u00a0 I would try to read my Islamic books, but I just felt that I couldn\u2019t take in any more.\u00a0 Then rumors about me were going around the hospital, and they started to get back to me.\u00a0 This really upset me, because I hated my life to be the subject of every ones curiosity, and I hated to be the brunt of backbiting and rumors.\u00a0 I went home from work one evening, and I felt that I just couldn\u2019t face it any longer.\u00a0 I hated coming in and watching TV all night and seeing and talking to no one, and the weekends had become a nightmare.\u00a0 I might not see anyone all weekend.\u00a0 I felt lost and alone.\u00a0 It came time for Isha prayer that night and I just didn\u2019t want to do it.\u00a0 This had never happened to me before and it really upset me.\u00a0 I cried solidly for two hours.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The next day my eyes were really swollen and I cried on and off all day.\u00a0 Khaled kept asking me what was wrong and at first I just couldn\u2019t tell him, because I felt so ashamed, even though I had done the prayer because I knew I had to.\u00a0 Eventually I told him and he reassured me that even he felt that way sometimes and not to feel bad about it or get upset about it.\u00a0 What I needed was to change my lifestyle, play tennis, go shopping, read a book.\u00a0 I kept arguing that that wouldn\u2019t help because I still needed people to talk to, I would still be lonely.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">That night I went home, and I felt I was really loosing it, I felt I just couldn\u2019t go on.\u00a0 After my prayer I prostrated myself and I prayed really hard <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cPlease God, don\u2019t let me loose you, please don\u2019t let me loose you.\u201d <\/span><\/strong> I sat up and turned to the short verses in the back of the Quran and I found Al-Taakathur, and after reading it I realized that I had to let go of all these things I was still attached to, like the TV and worrying about people and what they thought about me.\u00a0 I had to learn to let go.\u00a0 And I felt all my worries leaving me as if they were coming out of my back and floating away.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The next day at Fajr, when I finished my prayer, I got a feeling that I should put my hands in front of me while I was saying my Du\u2019ua.\u00a0 I had seen people doing this but I never understood what it was for.\u00a0 I put out my hands and I prayed for God to help me to let go and to try harder to be a better person.\u00a0 Then I put my hands up to my face and I felt a tingling sensation and a sense of well being and peace and for ages. I was afraid to move in case it went away.\u00a0 But it didn\u2019t.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">That day at work, I had a visit from a guy in the Computer department &#8211; Anwer.\u00a0 I had never met him before but he had heard about me.\u00a0 He told me about the Rajhi mosque, and that there were lectures in English on a Friday.\u00a0 I decided that I would go that Friday.\u00a0 That week I didn\u2019t watch any TV, and I played tennis and then I asked one of our limo drivers that I trusted to bring me to the mosque.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Friday morning, I got very nervous and at the last minute, I felt that I didn\u2019t want to go.\u00a0 What if I went to the wrong Mosque, what if I did everything wrong.\u00a0 Just as I was going out the door, I prayed to God to guide me and to let everything turn out OK.\u00a0 And, everything did turn out OK.\u00a0 I met the Sameers\u2019, an expatriate family from Sri Lanka, living and working in Saudi Arabia, my new family, and they took me in to their home and treated me like one of their own.\u00a0 May God bless them and reward them and I thank Him every day for choosing them and for letting me meet them.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ref. www.islamreligion.com<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reverting Two weeks later I went to the Dawa center.\u00a0 I was really frightened and I was afraid I would say something wrong.\u00a0 My friend Khaled and his wife brought&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":1472,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1473","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-women-convert-to-islam"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
