{"id":1850,"date":"2013-11-24T09:44:06","date_gmt":"2013-11-24T09:44:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/rs\/en\/new-zealand-to-open-first-muslim-forum\/"},"modified":"2013-11-24T09:44:06","modified_gmt":"2013-11-24T09:44:06","slug":"new-zealand-to-open-first-muslim-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/r-islam.com\/en\/new-zealand-to-open-first-muslim-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand to Open First Muslim Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1849\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/rs\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/newzleand.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"425\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/r-islam.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/newzleand.jpg 425w, https:\/\/r-islam.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/11\/newzleand-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Extending harmonious relations with the Muslim community, New Zealand&#8217;s Ethnic Affairs Minister has welcomed the opening of the Muslim World Forum to discuss the minority\u2019s rich contributions in her country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Forum is a fantastic opportunity for the Muslim community to reflect on its journey so far and discuss its future contribution to New Zealand,\u201d Judith Collins said in a New Zealand Government press release on Friday, November 22.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticipants will direct discussions, define issues and propose solutions, to contemporary challenges facing the Muslim community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will also discuss what opportunities exist to highlight the benefits of inter-cultural collaboration may bring, as for example in the halal meat industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Planned on Saturday, November 23, the Muslim World Forum will be discussing contemporary issues relating to New Zealand\u2019s relationship with the Muslim world and the New Zealand Muslim community.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Ethnic Affairs has worked with the New Zealand Muslim community on the Building Bridges Program since 2005.<\/p>\n<p>The program aims to create better connections, meaningful collaboration and open communication to support the maintenance of New Zealand\u2019s social harmony.<\/p>\n<p>Culminating on years efforts, the Muslim World Forum offers a great opportunity to hear new and wide-ranging perspectives on these critical issues and have a chance to participate in lively discussion and debate.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Muslim Contributions<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Collins asserted that the Government\u2019s support of this Forum signals its appreciation of the contribution that Kiwi Muslims make, and will continue to make, to society and New Zealand\u2019s national goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarlier this year the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination noted that many of New Zealand\u2019s efforts to combat racial discrimination represented best practice globally and are being recommended to other countries,\u201d Ms Collins says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of our religion, ethnicity or place of birth, we are all on the same journey &#8211; to find our voice as New Zealanders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Forum will break down stereotypes so we can appreciate diversity and be in a better position to take advantage of all the opportunities this diversity brings,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Islam has entered Australia more than 200 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The south-pacific island country of New Zealand is home to 36,000 Muslims, according to the 2006 census.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Source: On Islam<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Extending harmonious relations with the Muslim community, New Zealand&#8217;s Ethnic Affairs Minister has welcomed the opening of the Muslim World Forum to discuss the minority\u2019s rich contributions in her country.&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":1849,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[27],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1850","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-muslims-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
