The Nation of Islam is a Muslim group.<\/span>
<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Islam and the so called  “Nation of Islam'” are two different <\/span>religions.  NOI is more of a political organization since its members <\/span>are not limited to a single faith. Muslims consider this group to be <\/span>just one of many cults using the name of Islam for their own gain.  <\/span>
The only thing  common between them is the jargon, the language used <\/span>by both. “The Nation of Islam” is a misnomer; this religion should be <\/span>called Farrakhanism, after the name of its propogator, Louis Farrakhan.  <\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Islam and Farakhanism differ in many fundamental ways. For example, <\/span>Farakhan followers  believe in racism and that the ‘black man’ was the <\/span>original man and therefore superior, while in  Islam there is no <\/span>racism and everyone is considered equal in the sight of God, the only<\/span>
difference  being in one’s piety. There are many other theological <\/span>examples that show the ‘Nation’s teachings  have little to do with <\/span>true Islam.    There are many groups in America who claim to represent <\/span>Islam and call their adherents  Muslims.   <\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Any serious student of Islam has a duty to investigate  and find the <\/span>true Islam. The only two authentic sources which bind every Muslim <\/span>are 1. the Quran and 2. authentic or sound Hadith. Any teachings under <\/span>the label of “Islam” which contradict or at variance with the direct <\/span>understanding of fundamental beliefs and practices of Islam form the <\/span>Quran and authentic Hadith should be rejected and such a religion <\/span>should be considered a Pseudo-Islamic Cult.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>In America, there are many <\/span>pseudo-Islamic cults, Farrakhanism being one of them. An honest <\/span>attitude on the  part of such cults should be not to call themselves <\/span>Muslims and their religion Islam. such an  example of honesty is <\/span>Bahaism which is an off-shoot of Islam but Bahais do not call <\/span>themselves  Muslims nor their religion, Islam. In fact Bahaism is not <\/span>Islam just as Farrakhanism is not Islam.<\/span><\/p>\n
