*Christians believe that Jesus, peace be upon him, is the son of God in a special and exclusive sense. They use this coming verse as a proof for Jesus’ sonship, “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mathew 3:17)
Refutation:
1- Many prophets are called “sons of God” and “Children of God” in the bible,“And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn” (Exodus 4:22). It’s clear her, according to this verse, that Israel (Jacob) is called God’s firstborn.
King Solomon is als described as the son of God,“He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men.”
(2 Samuel 7:13-14)
We have just read in Exodus 4:22 that Israel is the firstborn son of God , and in Jeremiah 31:9 Abraham is called the firstborn son of God, ” They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.”
Who is the firstborn son of God?! Israel or Ibrahim?!
2- Common people are also called ‘children of God’, meaning that they are obeying God.
“Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.” (Deuteronomy 14:1)
*Christians believe that Jesus, peace be upon him, is the son of God because he is the only “begotten son of God”.
Refutation:
1-David is also the begotten son of God, this is clear in this coming verse, ” I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me (David), Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” (Psalms 2:7)
So, David, peace be upon him, is also God’s begotten son, and he was before Jesus, peace be upon him.
2- The meaning of “son of God” is used metaphorically and not literally; the bible makes it clear that whoever obeys God is beloved to Him and is called son or child of God.
3- The word “begotten” is derived from the Greek word “unigenitus” which means the only begotten son. The original word in the Greek manuscript is “monogenes” which means the unique. Jerome, a translator of the bible, injected the word unigenitus instead of monogenes.
4- John 3:16, in the authorized king James Version, it says that Jesus, peace be upon him, is the only begotten son of God. And the same verse (John 3:16) in the New Standard version and New Revised Standard, the word “begotten” was deleted, this means that it’s not authentic.
*Another group of Christians claim that Jesus, peace be upon him, is a special son of God because he was created without a father.
Refutation:
Adam was also created without a father and without a mother. And he is also called the son of God, “Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.” (Luke 3:38)
It’s quite clear that many people, throughout the passages of the bible, are called “firstborn son of God”, “Sons of God”, “begotten son of God” and “children of God” which signify love, affection and nearness to God, and it’s not exclusive to Jesus, peace be upon him, alone.
It’s no more than a heresy invented by Paul, “And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.” (Acts 9:20)
It’s so clear that Jesus, peace be upon him, is NOT son of God according to the bible.
May God guide us all to His True Path.
